Improve Your Sex Life- Be Vegan

OK folks, I stumbled upon an article on the http://www.fitnessmagazine.com website which I think was absolutely raw-some!! Eating raw does have its benefits. Below I’m just going to outline for you the foods that the fitness magazine  website has highlighted that will improve your sex life and have you rocking the sheets with your partner!!

So here we go.

Lettuce

Little did I know that lettuce was such a love potion! It’s such a everyday simple vegetable. According to the magazine,

“Iceberg lettuce contains an opiate that helps to activate sex hormones,” say Drs. Clement. Nosh on a bowl at dinner and you’ll be ready to go by the time you turn in for the night.

So next time you are considering what to have for dinner. Have a salad, with a whole heap of lettuce.

Watermelon

Well well well…  Who would have thought. The good old watermelon, full of nutrition and at least 92% of it is  just water but the next 9%  is filled with sexual nutritious juices that will perk you up a bit. 😉

This is what http://www.fitnessmagazine.com had to say.

“Researchers at the Texas A&M Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center reported finding in 2008 that watermelon has ingredients that delivered Viagra-like effects to the human body’s blood vessels and could even aid in increasing libido”.

Isn’t that amazing! So for all those watermelon lovers out there. Eat to your heart’s content.

Saffron

As Trinidadians most of us use saffron a lot. This food is a great way to activate your sex drive. According to the magazine “Researchers at the University of Guelph have found that saffron can improve sexual performance. To use, Glassman suggests soaking the threads in hot liquid for 15 minutes then adding to any grain like rice, quinoa, or barley — or use it in a soup or stew.”

So guys we know what to do right. Start making those curry dishes more often. Yum!!

Black Raspberries

Stella has finally gotten her groove back! lol… Get busy after having at least 10 of these a day.

“This phytochemical-rich food enhances both libido and sexual endurance,” say Drs. Anna Maria and Brian Clement, authors of 7 Keys to Lifelong Sexual Vitality and directors of Hippocrates.”

Broccoli

broccoli

Is this the new female Viagra? This vegetable is great for enhancing the female libido.  It has loads of vitamin C which increases blood circulation to the organs. It can be eaten raw as well. So girls, stock up on your broccoli you won’t regret it!

Ginger

ginger

Getting frisky with a little ginger is a spanking  way to enhance your libido!

According to Drs. Clement. “In the 21st century, those of us who know about botanical-ceuticals know that ginger helps circulation temperature adjustment, mucoid detoxification (mucus-like residue that can coat your GI tract) and also a libido enhancer.”

Cloves

Cloves-Powder

Cloves are jam packed with nutritional benefits and most of all it is a potent sex super food. You can use it in your tea, latte or in your favorite meal. It’s a great booster for men as well and has been used to treat male sexual dysfunction. So while preparing your cloves don’t forget to share some with your guy.

Moreover, According to Glassman “Cloves are also used to rid bad breath, which can’t hurt your kissing skills either,”  he also suggests using powdered cloves in Mexican food. Add a little cumin and cinnamon and you’ve got a tasty, multifaceted aphrodisiac”.

In other facts, foods that kill your libido are:

Libido slayers – Oysters

oysters

Don’t give into the myth of Oysters improving your sex life. You will be sorely disappointed.  As stated in the magazine,

“Oysters are a well-known source of zinc, which plays a central role in the creation of hormones and clitoris sensitivity, but they are also a toxic food,” Drs. Clement say. “Oysters and other shellfish can absorb the toxins and parasites in the ocean, which can often outweigh the benefits of zinc.” Skip the seafood and chow down on spinach for a similar low-calorie, high-zinc option.”

Libido Slayers- Dairy

icecream

Remember in my previous posts I spoke about swapping different types of foods? Well dairy is one of them. You may want to look for ice-cream and cream cheese that is lactose free or dairy free and increase your soy intake.  You can get loads of calcium from calcium-rich soy milk and other vegetables. Calcium is important because it is associated to cell and sexual health.

“The Clements say that the lactic acid in dairy and oxygen-destroying elements can squash a libido at any level, so try to limit the creamy stuff .”

“When cells are healthy, they increase sensitivity for better circulation to genitalia, thus giving you more pleasure. Stock up on calcium-rich soy milk, leafy greens, sprouted beans, cabbage, broccoli, and wheat-grass juice.”

I hope you have enjoyed and was enlightened by this very exciting and interesting information. I surely was. So next time you’re having problems between the sheets try going raw for a change. Be Vegan!

Veganism

Veganism is a diet that is high in dietary fiber. Dietary Fiber consists of foods like

Whole wheat – wheat pasta, and brown rice. Uncle Ben’s brown rice.

Beans – lentils, red beans, black beans

Popcorn – you can use olive oil or coconut oil to pop.

Nuts – almonds , cashews.

Baked potatoes with the skin.

Provisions- dasheens,yams,sweet potatoes

Berries – straw berries, blue berries

Oatmeals

vegetables – lightly cooked

Also, look for food labels that are high in dietary fiber like 4-5 grams rather than 1 -2 grams of dietary fiber. The more Fiber you intake the less obese you become. The intake of fiber fills you up and the food is absorbed into the body at a slower rate keeping you less hungry. It also lowers the cholesterol levels in your body. Keeping your heart healthier.

Veganism is a  diet low in Saturated fat. We don’t eliminate every saturated fat for eg: nuts and coconut oil but we eliminate most;

Cheese- Goat cheese, Dairy cheese

Pies cookies, cakes,  – made with animal fat or products.

Processed meat – corn beef, sausage

red meat – lamb, pork, stakes etc.

Butter

Fast food

Egg yolk

These are some of the foods vegans stay away from and its not that difficult. There are substitutes for almost everything now. Say tuned to see  my healthy vegan swaps in my next post!!

Welcome to TriniVegan

Hi Everyone!

I’m Krystal and I will like to introduce you to my blog “To Be or Not To Be Vegan“. This is all new to me and it’s part of a class project that I must do well in so I would like everyone to comment, share their views, photos and videos and just have fun with this new and interesting blog.

I am  a new vegan convert and I have been a vegan for the past 4 months. This means that my diet has completely been changed. I have refrained from all meat including fish and all dairy products and I have replaced it with substitute products  that I will further discuss on my posts.

For those who know me, they were very surprised when I made such a drastic change in my eating habit. My sister was my inspiration and she still is . When I returned from my travels I realized that she lost a considerable amount weight because of her vegan lifestyle. I have tried lots of formulas for weight loss and although I am an active person I have always wanted to weight a certain amount  and so maybe this vegan lifestyle would do just the trick.

As the months go by and I become more busy I have found that living this lifestyle is becoming more and more difficult and am I really losing the weight by deleting certain foods and ingredients from my diet? Being vegan is also my way of keeping my body healthy and I do feel healthier by omitting certain foods from my diet. I have so much to share with you on my new lifestyle and maybe at the end of it all you can decide To be or Not be Vegan. Stay tuned to find out if being vegan really blast the fat as well as I’ll be showing you where I shop for my favorite vegan produce and discuss the disadvantages and advantages of this new vegan craze. You’ll love it !!
