Preparing Soy Mince.

Bring water to boil and insert  dried soy mince. Boil for about 5 mins, wash, drain and season soy as  you would season meat. Leave mince to marinate for at least one hour.  Then stew  the soy  making a rich tasty sauce. Add salt and pepper and other ingredients to taste.

7 Sweet Potatoes
1 Cup of flour
1 tsp salt
Toppings
Tomato sauce
Grated vegetarian cheese
Sweet peppers
Mushrooms
Tomatoes
Meat- Prepared soy mince.
Combine sweet potatoes and flour together, make into a dough bake for about 10 mins. Take out of oven place toppings, place back into oven for 20- 25 mins. take out and serve.

Cooking Made Skinny – Breadfruit Cheese Cake.

Ok folks, so some of you have been asking me to put up recipes that will help cut down the fat and lose weight.

So today I’m going to show a simple vegan meal that can cut tons of calories. It is very very low in fat, no eggs or dairy used and it is loaded with fiber that will rev up your metabolism.  Here we go!

 

Breadfruit cheese cake

 

Bread fruit cheese cake

3 1/4 cup of sugar 9 (cane sugar or honey)

1 tsp of fresh ginger

1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

1 cup of milk – Soy or almond

1 cup of raw cashew nuts ( unsalted)

2 tsp of essence

3 cups of boiled breadfruit( skinned)

1 1/2 tsp of salt

1 tablespoon of lecetin powder ( easily found in the grocery)

Place boiled breadfruit   in food processor with other ingredients. Mix until the consistency is like mashed potatoes and  place in dish. Bake for  35 mins at 350F.

You can top off this amazing dish with fruit for toppings. This can be eaten for  lunch or breakfast. Enjoy!!

Lets Make Granola Cereal From Oats… Vegan Style!

So I am going to show you guys how to whip up your own homemade granola cereal from oats.

You will need

2-3 cups of dried oats.

3 tablespoons of honey

1 cup of raisins or dried fruit

1 cups of nuts ( any kind of your choice)

Mix honey into dried oats in bowl.   Spread honey based oats on baking tray. Bake in oven at 200°F for one hour. Turn over oats every half hour. When finished leave to cool. Mix raisins, nuts and dried fruits in. Serve with soy or almond milk for a great breakfast  cereal.

After baking, the oats become super crunchy and the honey gives it just the right amount of sweetness. No artificial sweeteners. Very healthy and low in calories. Great for weight loss. Excellent vegan style cereal. Check out how to make this below. Stay tuned Vegan bloggers. Vegan Out!!

Ok my vegan bloggers! If you would like to be a real vegan you’re going to have to kick some of that saturated fatty foods to the curb. Yes I know its hard. Its hard for me too because I still love chocolate and some unhealthy snacks but I’m really trying here so lets do this!

Soya mince , chunks, soya balls and Tofu. I’ts an excellent source of protein and it tastes really good especially if you soak it in water drain it and then season it up with some fresh herbs or  season it Trini Style. In that way for those who don’t like that fresh soy taste, you wont get it it will taste just like stewed chicken.

Looks like eggs right? Its tofu and it’s all minced up and sauteed just like eggs . Very high in protein and it tastes amazing.

All types of nuts for protein

All types of nuts can be eaten. As snacks as well. It is a good source of protein. Don’t worry about missing your protein intake there is sufficient vegan food for that. 🙂

You can find this in the grocery. For Trinidadians, Xtra Foods has a lot of vegan meat substitutes once seasoned well, it tastes great.

Dairy milk can be swapped for soy milk, almond milk, cashew milk or rice milk. I normally stick with almond and soy.  They taste just as good as the dairy.

Soy cheese and cashew cheese are amazing swaps for dairy cheese. You won’t miss the dairy after tasting this. I’ll also post ingredients for the cashew cheese.

High in protein. Swap your meat for beans. Also you can make lentil patties. It goes really well with your dish.

Oats is an excellent way to get in that fiber you need. Swap your meat, white rice  white bread and white flour for  delicious oat patties .. it can also go well with that tasty cashew cheese sauce. This can also reduce your weight, too much flour and rice are weight gainers.Its your choice.

Peanut butter is very fattening and has a tonne of hydrogenated oil, which is really not good for your heart but if you love it like I do,  why not swap it for Earth Balance peanut butter. This has no hydrogenated, or even Smart Balance peanut butter, they all contains flax seed oil. Flax seed  fights against heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

You can get Uncle Ben’s Brown rice everywhere now. It has all the fiber you need as well . Brown pasta and Rye flour and even oat flour can be used.  Especially if you’re watching your weight.

Amazing Vegan Banana Smoothie

Let’s stir up an amazing Vegan Banana smoothie shall we…

  • Half cup of soy or almond milk
  • I table spoon of earth balance peanut butter
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 blocks of ice

Instructions:
Blend in blender until super smooth.
Pour in glass.
Drink up!!
